Georg 2. August (engelsk: George II Augustus) (30. oktober (jul.)/10. november (greg.) 1683 – 25. oktober 1760) var konge af Storbritannien og Irland og kurfyrste af Hannover fra 1727 til 1760.

Han var søn af kong Georg 1. af Storbritannien og den anden britiske monark af slægten Hannover. Han var den sidste britiske monark, der var født uden for Storbritannien, den sidste britiske konge, der personligt førte hæren i krig og den sidste britiske monark, der blev begravet i Westminster Abbey.

Amalie Sophie Marianne von Wallmoden-Gimborn, Countess of Yarmouth, born Amalie von Wendt (1 April 1704 – 19 or 20 October 1765) was the principal mistress of King George II from the mid-1730s until his death in 1760. Born into a prominent family in the Electorate of Hanover, and married into another, in 1740 she became a naturalised subject of Great Britain and was granted a peerage for life, with the title of "Countess of Yarmouth", becoming the last royal mistress to be so honoured. She remained in England until the death in 1760 of King George II, who is believed to have fathered her second son, Johann Ludwig, Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn. She returned to Hanover for the rest of her life, surviving the king for nearly five years.

Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk (born Henrietta Hobart; 1689 – 26 July 1767) was a British courtier. She is known as the mistress of King George II of Great Britain. She was the sister of John Hobart, 1st Earl of Buckinghamshire.
